Navruz is a holiday celebrating the awakening of nature, the beginning of work in the fields. It represents goodness, love and mercy. On this day one forgives old umbrages, visits the elderly, sick and lonely, warming them with a good word or a gift. Large families and pensioners receive assistance in various forms.

Since Uzbekistan’s independence Navruz has once again found its rightful place by becoming a general holiday expressing the triumph of friendship, unity and brotherhood of all who regard this independent and prosperous country their home. Spectacular performance will be held in the cities where one can see and understand the importance of Navruz in this country’s national history. The festivities spread from the cities like Tashkent, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz and Bukhara to all towns and villages of Uzbekistan, warming each home, every family. Late into the night music, song and laughter will ring in celebration of the beginning of a New Year.
