Uzbekistan to hold a forum “Silk and Fashion”

Starting from 2019, Uzbekistan will annually hold an International Forum on Sericulture and international exhibition “Silk & Fashion”.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On additional measures to support the accelerated development of the silk industry in the Republic.”

The document notes that starting from 2019, the International Forum on Silk-growing and the International Silk-Fashion Exhibition (Silk & Fashion) will be held annually with wide involvement of representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign countries accredited in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the silk industry of foreign countries, experts and professionals, as well as foreign tourists.

The President ordered to organize trade shows (shops) of silk fabrics and finished silk products, as well as a fashion show of silk and silk products under the national brand Uz-Silk on the territory of cultural heritage sites frequented by tourists.
